FIA International MBA Football tournament

The finals of the International tournament took place last weekend. Third place was decided with exiting penalty shoot-out after a one-one draw, and International team A took second place, in the final, losing only to the “all star” (all Brazilian) FIA team.

A great showing by our international MBA, with 13 nationalities represented, including at least one excellent female player in each team.

Marise Barroso

Marise Barroso, President of the Mexichem Brazil and a member of the Strategic Committee of the FIA International MBAs won the “Woman Executive of the Year” award by the “Valor Econômico” newspaper, one of the top business publications in Brazil. With an International career background and a strong focus on marketing and human resource development, her participation in our strategic committee brings a great contribution to our MBA programs.

A new Latin America Initiative

Brazilian companies will increase and improve their role in Latin America market, according to outstanding business leaders such as Ingo Plöger, president of CEAL-“Conselho Empresarial da America Latina”, and Roberto Teixeira da Costa, member of the board of “Sul America Seguros” and eminent entrepreneurs and businessman.

A FIA-ProFuturo Seminar held this week discussed these and other prospects for Latin America businesses, coordinated by Professor Ricardo Sennes, of GAcint/IRI- the Institute for International Relations of the University of São Paulo. The occasion marked the launch of a new specialization course- “Geopolítica, Estratégia e Negócios Latino Americanos”, to begin in March 2012, to prepare our participants for these increasing international challenges.

GE Brazil Case Competition

FIA International MBA was chosen by GE to be the first Brazilian school to take part in their global ECLP Case Competition.

The ECLP program involves a two year career program in various GE businesses around the globe, as a project to prepare high potential international executives.

Our teams met with the directors of various business units in Brazil and in our fist presentation at GE headquarters in São Paulo, the business case proposals were evaluated by 4 directors from Brazil and the USA, as well as 3 FIA faculty. Five creative new business propositions were presented and discussed with great results and the FIA students have been invited to take part in a Latin America “webnar” to explore employment opportunities in ECLP program.

Congratulations to all the FIA International MBA teams.
